Afternoon Tea at The 10 Manchester Street Hotel

A free afternoon. Time for yourself. To chat with a friend, catch up or just step away from the usual London buzz, step into a cocoon, relax entirely.

Choose one of the very comfy banquettes, admire the purity of the sunshine pouring in the room. Order the afternoon tea, let yourself be hypnotised by the steam dancing from the teapot…

Sip on your Assam, put the iphone away, take a book out, read a few pages – suddenly, it feels as if you should have brought poetry. Bite into one of the fluffy cube-sandwiches. Realise it has been so long since you had tasted Piccalily sauce, turn the plate, hesitate for long minutes between the salmon or the chicken with a lemon touch…

Fall for the comfort of scones, the tenderness of the clotted cream. The 10 Manchester street Hotel’s are slightly different, flatter and larger, bringing a natural caramel note.

You are brought a chilled glass of champagne, delicate bubbles, refreshing on the palate. How glamorous indeed.  There is still a level to indulge in – sweet cakes, crunchy Opera, mmmmh-acarons, tangy raspberries in a sugary syrup. You will melt in pleasure for those little jewels.

Cigar enthusiast can also enjoy their favourite treat and have the afternoon tea on the dedicated terrace. The selection available is quite amazing and I found my favourite Cuban ones: Cohibas, Cuaba, Romeo Y Julieta…

A very different atmosphere, luxurious. Gentlemen will not resist!

Vous m’y croiserez sans doute! Ask the hotel – cigar evenings are regularly held there by the specialists Hunter & Frankau. A wonderful occasion to learn more about this art and match it to a carefully designed cocktail. Ladies cigar evenings also have been introduced – you probably will see me there!

  • Une bien agréable invitation… Superbe présentation, et pour moi aussi “scone” rime avec réconfort ! Bonne soirée.
