Whatever happened to the Men of tomorrow by Slinkachu @ the Andipa Gallery
Slinkachu is such a surprising artist. From tiny lead caracters – made for train models – he creates modern caracters, which he then stages in the streets. The whole scene will only be an inch so look carefully around you! Meant to stop us in our tracks, they also symbolise our loneliness in a very urban world, the impression, somehow, to be a tiny insect amidst giants of concrete.
You’ll find his latest creations at Andipa – what happened to the men of tomorrow?
Superheros always flirt with danger, drape themselves in the shiny cities, mirror their elegance, their liveliness, their powers. But surely they age too…? Here’s Slinkachu’s vision of those supermen, divorced by the city, tired out, losing their sexiness (and their hair), the gravity forcing their bellies towards the ground, forbidding them to fly… Normal super-men…

You can check more of his work on his blog. There’s also a book!
Even better – have a look at his other project (go to art): the inner city snail… London snail are picked up, decorated then freed again. A new version of street art!
