Buy cool postcards @ the London Transport Museum
Ah, holidays… Walking around without looking at tour watch, taking the time to really enjoy things… And, the last few days, remember. Hadn’t we promised to send a postcard? Damn! Rush, and once you have them, never kknow what to write. Then remains the souvenir part: what to get for Auntie Josie or you best friend who is always so trendy?
The first trip to London is pretty easy – you’ll happily settle for the stereotypes: Big Ben, horseguards, red double deckers… You’ll find cheap ones at the Jubilee Hall Market in Covent Garden.
But at the third trip or if you live here, what to choose? You woud eat your bear fur hat rather than buy another red bus card.
You can still go for the National Gallery: they have a fab collection figuring great paintings…
Or choose a touch of British humour at Paperchase…
I love to stop at the London Transport Museum shop. Not only is the museum itself fab, whether you’re on your own or with a family (especially as kids uner 16 go free), but it is at a perfect location with animations, shops, cafes and cupcakes all around.
This is my best souvenirs place in the city. Mugs applauding the best places in the city, reedition of posters from the 70ies, miniature buses and cabs for the little ones, travel books, Mind the gap magnets, great Tshirts, Ted Baker oystercards… And even bags, keyrings and cushions using the most famous motifs from the underground fabrics!
As for your writing skills? Well, why not got for those postcards showing old advertisments for the tube?
Or those – very new at the shop and soooo funny!

J’adore les cartes postales, surtout les recevoir
mais généralement j’envoie des cartes de la ville que je visite, c’est un peu classique mais c’est surtout lorsque je suis de passage quelque part parce que là où j’habite elles ne sont pas terribles. Je reconnais bien Coralie ton sens aigue de la perfection, la recherche de ce qui est bien, de ce qui est beau, de ce qui va faire plaisir, bravo et merci. -

J’avais beaucoup aimé la boutique du London Transport Museum et avais bavé devant les petites plaques métalliques avec les noms des différents quartiers londoniens. 100% d’accord avec Sylvie, non seulement Coralie a des idées très chouettes et la plupart du temps destinées aux autres, : )
