Monday: la vie en rose

I try to avoid thinking of monday mornings. Instead I try to retain the week-end feeling at all cost, prolong its holiday notes before returning to a hellish routine.

It was born of the passion of two men – Rob Calcraft and Anthony Buck. When the latter’s wife was pregnant, her skin became much more sensitive and she turned allergic to her usual beauty products. Alternatives were few on the market: paraben, the usual conservative, is pretty difficult to replicate in a natural way. But they worked on it -  it took a whole year of research, another two of experiences for each ingredient but science really was used to the best in this case. No tests on animals, minimum packaging possible.

In the range, my favourite remains the Moroccan Rose bath oil. Divinely fragranced, it becomes milky when touching the water, then creates a layer of bubbles. There is a touch of geranium too, slightly peppered and soothing. The skin is left beautifully supple, satin like. Bonus points for  not leaving the bath oily and sticky though, a problem I find with most essential oils. Oh, try to add a few drops to Nivea cream and use it as an hydrating mask…

For a full la vie en rose effect, you can also use the body wash, more discreet in aroma when you open it yet still leaves the bathroom smelling like a summer garden. You will love ist soft lathering effect. Finish with the cream enhanced with rosehip: very rich, not too sugary in its perfume, maximum hydratation. Those are gentle products which make you feel you have listened to your skin for once.

A last touch worth the detour – Ila’s face oil for glowing radiance also based on roses. Just warm it in your hands for a few seconds and massage it on your face, neck, shoulders. The skin absorbs it very quickly and the fragrance of it is very vibrant and stays the whole day. You look rested and yes, it is true, radiant. Quite an investment in price but well, it will last forever as you need such a little quantity each time.

What is your cocoon recipe for Mondays?
