Musée des arts forains, Paris
Hundred years old fair rides, wooden horses so beautiful you only saw them in fairy tales books, scenes painted exquisitely on the ceilings, a passion for creating dreams and an exceptional universe… In this hall, which used to store wine barrels, nestled between those tiny, ancient stones, you will discover a fun fair world almost forgotten, only glimpsed in movies these days. Forget the too bright, almost ugly plastic characters we are used too - rediscover the emotion of wood, how it tells a story at the first touch, how it makes a swan, a mermaid more alive, enjoy the delicate hues, the amazing details. Even better you can indeed try the games and rides – there even is one made entirely with vintage bikes in a circle, everyone having to pedal to make it go round… You will feel like a child agian, your eyes wide with excitement and sparkling.
Open on booking only. But until January the 06th, the doors are open continuously, just book your tickets online and bring the whole family. I guarantee all generations will love it.
