Hawksmoor Air Street bar
Just above Regent Street hides an art deco gem. The gorgeous silver edged windows filtering the lights of the city, geometrical lamps, old-style, irresistible leather seats… Amazing to find such a design place a few steps fromt the buzzing Piccadilly. It has, without doubt, class. It also is one of the most famous fish restaurant in London, using the freshest produce possible straight from Brixham market in Devon. But you can also stop by just to enjoy the bar – so very 1920ies you will feel like dancing the charleston.
The list of cocktails is to dies for. Each has a precise description, you know, one of those you re-read several times, feeling your mouth water, the choice rendered impossible. Bridging drink? Cards and cigars inspired? Or even better - Disco drinks… I fell for the excellent Nuclear banana daiquiri, pure magic, making your smile more at each sip. Amazing how refreshing yet so warming it is! The perfect mix of banana, spiced rum, yellow chartreuse and falernum, an interesting syrup of almonf, ginger and lime. Light, fruity, exotic with a lovely aniseed conclusion.
The bar also offer a very gourmet menu - crab or even lobster sandwich (the luxury of it!) but also Cornish or Colchester served with homemade sausages. Or how about pickled cockles or soused pilchards? They are sure to make you feel nostalgic of British seaside. To share, try the fried queenies, delicious bites of scallops in a crunchy batter, moist and juicy at heart. Pure elegance: those are served in a crystal style glass and the unctuous tarragon sauce in a silver boat. Wow effect guaranteed!

cela donne réellement envie d’y faire un petit tour, de croire y rencontrer Bugsy Malone et de gauffrer ses cheveux…

Très belles photos! Les cocktails ont l’air délicieux, et la nourriture aussi!
