When I first arrived in England, I gladly had triangle sandwiches every lunch. I even quite liked them. 6 years down the line, I can’t see them anymore.

Of course, a big city always offers alternatives: baguettes (though nothing like French ones unless you have a Paul or Pret nearby), paninis, wraps. Different bread, more or less same fillings.Have you noticed the incredible number of chicken variations?!

But right in the heart of Soho is a fab place for people who share their despair: Mooli’s.

The founders, Sam and Matthews, grew up in India – think colours, spices, street market and formidable, tasty, cheap, street food. Once in London, they grow nostalgic. They end up leaving their well positionned jobs to jump into adventure.

They now propose Moolis – home made bread, much more moist and thicker than a wrap, which they roll into a sandwich. It’s divine. There are 6 to choose from:

- chicken, mint and coriander chutney, green apple

- potato, cumin, mangue, yogurt, tamarin, asparagus

- Indian cheese (paneer), spices, tomato chutney, grated carrots

- beef, spices, pepper, coconut, cucumber raita

- pork, chilli, garlic,pomegrande

What a feast! Those are just so tasty, the spices not agressive but dancing on your tongue, the meat tender, the chutneys vibrant… You finish it in no time. Indian fast-food? A revolution. I stop regularly and haven’t succeded to have a favourite yet – each fits a different mood.

I love to have a velvety mango lassi with this. But you might prefer a glass of wine ou a guava mojito?

With summer (finger-crossing) coming our way, you can even take them away to the nearby Soho Square…
