Children’s books: The Queen’s hat (Steve Antony)

It’s raining. We settled on the sofa, against a mountain of pillows, fighting over the cosy blanket. Each with our mug – hot chocolate, vanilla milk, strong espresso. It’s story time. We have shelves overflowing with books, from a book keeping childhood memories to mystery and adventure volumes… Today is a new one: The Queen’s hat by Steve Antony. A lovely adventure where wind will capture the royal headpiece and will make it fly around the city. The Queen, the corgi, the royal guards all follow, Her Royal Highness always impeccably elegant, very Mary Poppins, the soldiers piling behind her. Off we go… to Trafalgar Square, the London Eye, Big Ben, the Tube, Buckingham… A rather enchanting way to revisit London’s milestones. Have a look on the author’s website for 10 additional details that did not get published in the book. Includes the Queen on Boris’ shoulders, yes, that Boris, Mayor of London at the time!
