The arrival of spring

A touch of decadence, enjoyed by the window, open.

The handful of daffodils picked earlier, brushed by gentle rays of sunshine, fill the room with their scent. Saffron mixed with honey comes to mind. An awakening of sorts.

Outside, the countryside is, indeed, coming back to life. Waves of crocuses, touches of yellow, white, purple turning lawns into pointillist paintings.

The first leaves of wild garlic too, their taste incredibly intense. In a couple of weeks, they will be enough nearby to be foraged and turned into scones.

Hope, cheerfulness, spring were dancing in the air.  It almost felt like a Disney movie.
